Lyid Gōk Ner (/ljid/ /goːc/ [hot; warm] [luxury]) is a subtropical Town located in the Fövnëbës Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Lyid Gōk Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Lyid Gōk Ner was founded by Timlikh Tastri, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Lyid Gōk Ner has a yearly average temperature of 16°C (60°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 4°C (39°F). Lyid Gōk Ner receives an average of 258 cm/y (101 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Lyid Gōk Ner covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2522 m (8274 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Lyid Gōk Ner was founded durring the late 11th century, by Timlikh Tastri. The establishment of Lyid Gōk Ner suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Lyid Gōk Ner which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Lyid Gōk Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lyid Gōk Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Lyid Gōk Ner is buildings folow an organic layout of crampt gravel streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Lyid Gōk Ner's cost-cutting-focused defences are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Lyid Gōk Ner has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Lyid Gōk Ner ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up.

Lyid Gōk Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Lyid Gōk Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Lyid Gōk Ner possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Lyid Gōk Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Lyid Gōk Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Lyid Gōk Ner's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

Lyid Gōk Ner is remarkably well-fortified for a site of its size and role. Tall, stout walls, strong points inside the community, concentric defenses, a strategic terrain location, or a large body of standing troops might be present. Some threat is thought to exist that makes maintaining this fortification worthwhile, though it may come at a dear cost to the locals.
